Ernie is an experienced NHS Manager with 16 years’ service and expertise in strategic planning, equipment and contracts management, change management, team development and compliance.

In his role at The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust – who utilise Proactis for electronic tendering and contract management – Ernie has complete visibility of 690 live contracts with a life-value of £1.41 billion. And, utilising his skills and expertise in contract management to develop good industry standards in procurement, as well as innovations within NHS Trusts and the Team at UHL, the UHL Procurement & Supplies Team have been successful in achieving Level 2 in NHS Procurement Standards. Through collaboration and partnership working he is working on challenging financial climate further to achieve Level 3.
