Sourcing Lead and CIPS Young Procurement and Supply Professional of the Year nominee, British Steel
After graduating in Law and Business, Daniel joined British Steel in 2016 on the Procurement Graduate Scheme as a Category Manager in MRO Goods, Paint & Packaging. Daniel’s fearless approach to challenge the status quo resulted in savings of over £300k in his first six months. Throughout his four rotations, Daniel has secured long lasting benefits for the Procurement Department through strengthening stakeholder relationships and improved communication. He has also rewritten scopes for strategically critical contracts such as Scaffolding, with a spend of over £3m and found further external markets for valuable By-Products. Daniel is now moving into a permanent position within the Services Team, managing a portfolio of Environmental and Specialist Maintenance Categories.
Daniel’s achievements were recognised in the 2017 British Steel employee recognition awards, receiving ‘Trainee of the Year’. He has also been shortlisted for the CIPS Young Procurement Professional of the Year 2018 at the Supply Management Awards.
